Project Details

Einar is a single-player 3rd person hack and slash based on Norse mythology. The player takes on the role of Einar, who is on a quest to kill the inhabitants of a Norse fishing village who are infected by a mysterious material. Use different weapons such as the bow, hammer and axe to clear the village of the monsters.

I joined the project after the pre-production phase (period 2/4) where I focused on designing and programming a tool to collect analytical data to help during the play-testing and help gather information about balancing. During this time alongside developing the frontend, backend and UE4 plugin for this tool, I also focussed on implementing features into the game such as tutorial prompts, enemy stagger/physical hit response systems. During the final phases of development I also focussed on optimization of the game to hit target framerates on console and PC.

Since the release of the technical demo on Steam, Einar has between 200.000-500.000 downloads according to SteamSpy.
