About Me

My name is Miró Bouma. I am a Dutch programmer currently residing in Leiden, Netherlands. As a child I was always interested in games ever since my parents got me a Nintendo 64. While playing these games I was fascinated by how games work and would always look for ways to “break” the game. Once I got my own personal computer around the age of 12 I started to get into programming by making websites and tools for the games I was playing at that time which taught me the basic concepts of programming by learning PHP. Later on there were some games released where there was a big modding community and it was interesting for me to learn how these mods were created and was eager to make modifications to these games myself. During this period I got experience working with game frameworks and server architectures while also learning Java and C#. In 2014 I enrolled into “International Game Architecture and Design (IGAD)” at NHTV University of Applied Science in Breda. During this 4 year period I greatly developed my programming skills especially in C++. I gained much experience in working in small and large teams and also on solo projects. When working I am dedicated to writing robust and extensible code or focus on performance. I can work in large teams but I can also work well independently. I take responsibility in my work and team participation and aim to deliver the best product as possible.
